FAQs

Frequently asked
questions about Soleve

Soleve 200ml box
Can Soleve be used during pregnancy and/or breast-feeding?
No, it should not be used during pregnancy and/or breast-feeding.
Can Soleve be used by people with nut allergies?
None of the ingredients of Soleve lotion are derived from any nut.
How long can Soleve be used for, once the bottle has been opened?
Provided you replace the cap tightly and store the bottle at a reasonable temperature, you can use it up to the expiry date printed on the carton and bottle. Try to keep the bottle out of the sun on the beach, for example.
Why is there a lower age limit of 12 years for Soleve?
Because at the moment Soleve has not been licensed for young children. We also recommend that parents should seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist if a young child is sunburnt.
Can patients with asthma use Soleve?
Ibuprofen can sometimes induce allergic bronchial reactions in people susceptible to asthma. Although less ibuprofen is absorbed with topically-applied Soleve than with oral dosages, reactions can occur in rare cases. You should not use Soleve if you are asthmatic, or suffer from rhinitis (allergic runny nose) or urticaria (hives) and have ever had a bad reaction to aspirin, ibuprofen or other NSAIDs in the past.
Can patients taking beta-blockers (blood pressure lowering drugs) or
anti-coagulants (medicines to thin the blood) use Soleve?
Although oral ibuprofen can interact with blood pressure-lowering drugs, and enhance the effect of medicines used to thin the blood, the chance of either of these occurring with a topically-administered preparation is extremely remote. Such patients may therefore use Soleve on the advice of their doctor or pharmacist.
Can diabetic patients use Soleve?
There are no special precautions regarding patients with diabetes and the use of Soleve lotion.
